SHARLENE CHEETHAM IS A SELF TAUGHT ARTIST. SHE GREW UP A TOOWOOMBA LOCAL & NOW RESIDES IN A LITTLE COASTAL TOWN IN CENTRAL QUEENSLAND. HER
WORK IS A CELEBRATION OF THE UNDERRATED BEAUTY OF LIVING LIFE IN THE SLOW LANE, THE TRANSCENDINGBEAUTY OF NATURE, AND BUILDING A HOME FULL OF
PRECIOUS MEMORIES. HER WORK EXUDES PLAYFULNESS AND JOY, AND EXPLORES THEMES THAT PERTAIN TO THE MANY LAYERS THAT MAKE UP OUR LIVES, ALL OF WHICH COME TOGETHER WITH A LOVE FOR BOLD COLOUR, LAYERS OF TEXTURE AND EXPRESSIVE SHAPES.
SHARLENE’S WORK IS HUMBLE AND UNPRETENTIOUS, FULL OF CHARACTER, HEART, AND SKILL. EVERY PAINTING BUILT UP FROM MANY LAYERS, WHICH CAN BE EASILY SYMBOLIC OF THE JOURNEY HER WORK TAKES HER ON, EACH STEP CREATING DEPTH AND DIMENSION, MUCH LIKE THE ARTIST HERSELF.
SHARLENE IS A LATE BLOOMER IN A WAY, BUT BLOOM SHE HAS, PURSUING HER ART CAREER WITH GUSTO CREATING AN ARRAY OF EXCITING WORKS NOW GRACING THE WALLS OF MANY WHO ADORE HER WORK.
