Clare is an emerging Brisbane artist working primarily in watercolour, acrylics and
oils. As a daughter of a university art lecturer, her father’s influence has never left
her. After a long hiatus from the visual arts space Clare started painting again some
3 years ago. Her style has developed rapidly over these last few years.

Enjoying subject matter from a different perspective, her work offers a whimsical
playful eye to life. A sense of order and also unpredictability adds an energy to her
pieces. The process for her is energising and meditative, offering the same
experience to the viewer. Sometimes a still life, often an abstract bird’s eye view of
some of her favourite places, local character homes and watercolours result in fun
and colourful works with the occasional hint of nostalgia.

Clare juggles family life, her work in healthcare and a growing art practice.
